Alec Bradley Launches Cigars into Space

We recently reviewed the Alec Bradley Prensado and although it wasn’t ‘out of this world’ it seems the folks over at Alec Bradley decided to literally send them into space.

Founder Alan Rubin made history last month by putting the first cigars into space, and the company has published a YouTube video that includes footage of the launch as well as what we call ‘a morning in Vegas’

Tthe cigar industry gathered in Las Vegas for the 81st annual International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association trade show in July and Rubin, who won the title of Cigar of the Year in 2011 for his Alec Bradley Prensado Churchill gathered up his entourage and headed to the 59th floor of the Palms Place Casino to launch an airtight package containing all five sizes of their soon-to-be released Mundial line.

Mundial is set to start hitting US stores at the end of September and has been in the works for nearly five years.
We are informed the cigars are comprised of a blend that uses wrapper grown in the Trojes region of Honduras (which Alec Bradley also uses on Prensado); two binder leaves, one from Honduras, another from Nicaragua; and a mix of four filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and Honduras, with a very heavy component of Estelí ligero.

As soon as we get our hands on one we will be sure to review the sticks and refrain from using any sort of space flight puns! Otherwise….”Readers, we’ll have a problem”
