Winterville is Back!

East London’s alternative festive town is now open!

The lights ares on and someone is definitely home! Earlier this week the Winterville sign lit up and the gates opened to the public. Backyard Cinema unveiled their incredible Winters Nights Garden and held their first screening ‘Love Actually’. Kicking off the entertainment in the beautiful Dutch Spiegeltent, the London group Cirque Du Cabaret wowed the crowds with their burlesque and cabaret show. The 10 piece brass band The Old Dirty Brasstards had people up and dancing to their arrangements of pop hits including Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk and Taylor Swift’s Shake It Up and Christmas classics Last Christmas and Band Aid’s ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’. The Christmas marketsFood Hall and Winterville’s town pub Bar Humbug were all in full swing. Plonk Crazy Golf had people of all ages give their course a go and the Giant Wheel provided the perfect view of the town.

The programme of events at Winterville set it apart from all other festive destinations in London, with entertainment spanning everything from the Snow White Pantomime to the Circus Of Horrors and Sh*t Faced Shakespeare. Events this weekend at Winterville include Bugged Out’s Little Bugger featuring special guest Artwork, Sh*t Faced Showtime and Ultimate Power & Bogan Bingo in the Spiegeltent. The Circus will be performing four shows in the big top with acts from The Moscow State Circus and The Snow White Pantomime takes place in the Spiegeltent.
