Winter can be a cold time, so I was excited to be invited to The St James Bar, located at The Balcon Restaurant in London to sample their winter cocktails.
Enzo the bar manager was on form as he whipped up cocktails from the winter range, as well as their specially created Valentines cocktail.
The cocktails I tried were:
Gin based, this drink is themed around Coco Chanel. Using No.3 Gin this cocktail was very refreshing with a long floral finish.
This was whisky based using Laphroaig 10 year. The cocktail allowed the smokiness of the Laphroaig to come through without the overpowering flavours of the whisky. Recommended for a non-whisky drinker who wants to dip their toes.
To finish up Enzo served up his new Valentines cocktail. Vodka based, this was served in a martini glass with raspberry sorbet and rose petal decoration.
Made in a shaker, then poured in a pink Bernadaud tea pot and served from the tea pot into a martini glass, finished off with a raspberry sorbet and a red rose petal.
