So there we were sat at our desk minding our own business when we get an email for two tickets to the world première of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – thank you very much, yes please we’d love to go!
So off to Leicester Square we went and this is what we thought…
From the opening credits that deliver a brilliant music back drop to the dark undertone of Rooney Mara’s character The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a great film that will leave you wanting more. It can be said though Hollywood did get a little carried away with some interesting product placements that have now given me the urge to drink Coca-Cola, smoke Marlboro Reds, print on an Epson printer and write on an Apple Macbook!
So you where a bit like me, hear the hype wanted to see it but not sure of the plot? Well here it is:
After losing a ruinous libel case to a famous businessman, disgraced Swedish political journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Craig) is contacted by a rich industrialist, Henrik Vanger (Plummer), who needs help with his memoirs. However, Blomkvist soon finds that Vanger is more concerned with finding the murderer of his favourite great-niece, who disappeared from their family’s island in 1966…
In summary the film delivers on a number of levels, it has twists, turns, suspense and shock all rolled into a 2 hours 47 minutes roller-coaster of a journey!
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is out nationwide on December 26th – go see it.
