October is a glorious month to be a Londoner. We’ve grudgingly accepted the demise of good weather for the year and learnt to love our cosy winter coats, shops are getting festive, and the world of all things drinking related is opening up to us once more. Never one to disappoint, The Whisky Exchange are once more bringing back The Whisky Show for us all to indulge in one of our favourite past times. It’s hard to believe, but The Whisky Show is now in it’s seventh year and there’s a few massive reasons to visit this year, wether you’ve been before, or for your first visit. Due to the huge popularity of the event, it’ll now be held at Old Billingsgate which promises to be bigger and better than ever.
So what can you expect, exactly? The Whisky Show isn’t just a free-for-all knees up. It’s an educational and aspirational journey with a carefully crafted two-course whisky paired meal, an interactive cocktail bar, world-renowned guests (including Dave Broom, Sunday Brunch regular and one of the UK’s best loved spirits writers), and mini-master classes, one of which is a favourite of ours, the cigar and Dalmore masterclass. This year’s show is paying tribute to whisky legends from around the world that have also been invited to attend the show and share a story or dram with guests. And all that isn’t even the best part. The focus of the show will be on each exhibitor’s premium whiskies, well above their standard drams. With over 500 whiskies available to try with food pairings such as Iberico de Huelva jamon and cocktail confectioners Smith & Sinclair, the show’s bound to be one of the best drinks fairs ever!
