Tauron Nowa Muzyka Festival (Poland)

The curators of Tauron Nowa Muzyka wanted to cast a festival that showcased, according to them ‘the most interesting and valuable acts in the world of jazz, nu-jazz, electronics and dance music’ – quite the mix!
The dream was to create an event which would attract audiences from the whole of Poland and Europe (which is where you guys come in!) The name Nowa Muzyka (New Music) has become a byword for what they’ve set out to achieve…

The Vitals:

Where is it? Katowice, Upper Silesia, Poland

This is COOL!! The actual venue is a closed down KWK Katowice (Katowice coal mine) located in the very centre of Katowice.  The area formerly used for industrial reasons has be transformed into instrumental nu-jazz to minimal techno loving old production halls, warehouses, carpentries and an amazing pressure tower, making it a mecca for contemporary music lovers.

In between two beautifully preserved mine shafts Bartosz and Warszawa year after year festival stages appear to host the biggest names of modern musical avant-garde.

When is it? August 21st – August 24th 2014

Who’s playing?

So far, for the IX edition of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Festival have confirmed and announced the following acts (many more coming soon):

Kelis, Nenneh Cherry & Rocketnumbernine, Elliphant, Clark, Nozinja (Shangaan Electro), Cakes Da Killa, Terranova, Gonjasufi, Dixon, Elekfantz and Ben UFO

What They Say…

We have spent the last six years closely watching the lives and careers of the biggest names in the field of electronic music, as well as the promising upcomers. As organizers and promoters, we constantly strive to showcase artists that incorporate in their music the new, fresh and avant-garde ideas and influences and have the power to reach and inspire a huge audience.

What We Say…

Tauron Nowa Muzyka sits left-field of many ‘traditional’ offerings but in essence really goes back to the core of what being at a festival is all about – discovering great new music in an inspiring and fun environment. Its avant-garde and industrial surrounding mixed with the electronic music give music fans a real experience and for those wanting to pop their European festival cheery with out breaking the bank the good news is this is one of the most affordable out there!
