No it’s not a gentlemens club but now that we have your attention, it may not have just opened its doors but last September Stripbar & Steak opened bringing a slice of New York glamour to Farringdon.
Located within the Malmaison hotel, StripBar & Steak offers a modern twist on the traditional steakhouse, with a fresh, fun interpretation of the New York dining staple.
We will be reviewing Stripbar & Steak soon but we are told they specialise in New York Strip using a selection of USDA Black Angus Prime grade beef, hand-cut to order from 250g up to 550g – Bring on the #MeatComa.
There’s no scrounging on the accompaniments as we are informed they have Truffle Mash, and Mac & Cheese. Starters include steak Carpaccio, Tuna Tartar, and Lobster Cocktail.
Bur before you shout ‘I don’t eat meat’ they do offer alternatives to the steaks like Tuna Mignon and Halibut as well as a selection of specials including Lobster Curry and Strip Steak Stroganoff.
The interiors combine urban style with a touch of Las Vegas (our favourite word) featuring exposed brick walls, dark wooden tables and floors and plush leather seating.
Guests will be lead into the restaurant by neon lights and daily specials will be advertised on a model of the classic Nevada Stardust Casino sign. Have we just found our new home?
The split-level restaurant offers booths on the upper level as well as three intimate booths for 8 people hidden below exposed-brick archways. Sounds like a great date night for us…. Not us together, we mean with our respective partners!
The restaurant’s curated soundtrack and weekend DJ programme creates an energetic atmosphere throughout the restaurant and bar offering a holistic evening experience, from early evening drinks, to dinner, through to late night revelry.
We’ll report back with our review as soon as we stop drooling over the menu but check them out at: www.stripbarsteak.com
Stripbar & Steak is nestled between Smithfield Market, and Barbican, StripBar & Steak is situated in prime (no pun) location on Charterhouse Square.
