Each year, Sue Ryder takes over the month of February with our fabulous hair-raising challenge Febru-hairy… You might not have heard about it before so we thought we’d tell you about it in the hope that you might want to part and help raise much needed funds to make a real difference in people’s lives.
Any hairy activity is encouraged – if you can wax it, shave it, dye it or wear it, this is the challenge for you! Could you host a wacky hair or wig day? Do you have a hairy colleague who’s overdue a sponsored wax or style by the boss? Or could your team simply grow their beards for the month?
If the answer is yes, then why not have some fun while raising money for vital services? Not only is it a fundraiser that’s sure to increase morale after Christmas, it’s also fun, a sociable challenge and a great way to contribute to the community through your company’s Corporate Social Responsibility policy – bet you didn’t know that!
Your support will enable Sue Ryder to continue to offer personalised care to people with end of life and long-term conditions.
For ideas on how you can get involved please visit our website or email us. We’ll then send you a fundraising pack with everything you need to make your hair-raising event a success.
Where does the money go?
£50 – Could pay for three bereavement sessions in one of our hospices.
£100 – Is the cost of a nebuliser to help administer medication for someone with a respiratory illness.
£200 – Is the daily cost of providing a bed in one of our neurological care centres for someone with Huntingdon’s disease, Parkinson’s disease or brain injury.
£250 – Could pay for a bereavement counsellor for two days to provide emotional support to someone who has lost a loved one.
We hope that you’ll join in this hairy fundraiser!
