Citywide Laser Show Across London @ The Shard Inauguration

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a laser show emanating from London’s newest iconic building, the Shard to mark the inauguration of Londons tallest building.

Londoners all across the capital will be treated to a laser show tomorrow (5th July 2012) starting 10:15pm but here’s the real exciting part, as according to TimeOut it will be visible across the city.

It actually promises to be quite a waste of money spectacle with 12 lasers and 30 searchlights performing across the capital and being projected on to other London landmarks such as the London Eye, Tower Bridge and the Gherkin.

For those of us not lucky enough to be in with a direct view of the Shard, we can catch the event which will be streamed live at The Shard’s official website the-shard.com.

And for those of us who have been eagerly awaiting the opening of the Shard to get a birds eye view of the city (it’s hardly the Burj Khalifa) tickets for the viewing gallery go on sale Friday morning 9am at TheViewFromTheShard.com

While you’re waiting for the inauguration, we hope the following video of the Shard will keep you tied in till then.
