Public Sector App Store Announced, Angry Birds Not Invited

The British government has announced plans to jump on the app store bandwagon with a new service called ‘Cloudstore’.

The new app store will be aimed at small businesses hoping to provide IT services and will be offering software to assist such as email clients, data management and the likes.

It’s part of a government initiative to help cut public sector expenditure by introducing a wider spectrum of competition whilst helping boost small businesses.

About half the submitted apps will also be coming from small to medium sized businesses, which in turn will give a boost to software providers.

The app store was built by uk software solutions provider Solidsoft who have said that with just a few weeks work done so far, the store functionality is not yet completed and remains a catalogue until it is completed.
