Here at CTC towers we are always excited about new launches so when we heard about Jameson Whiskey launching a Caskmates Fourpure Limited Edition, we knew we had to get our hands on.
A collaboration with London’s Fourpure Brewing Co, the Jameson Caskmates Fourpure Edition is available exclusively to buy in the UK from September 2019.
Whiskey and beer are a perfect pairing, and so Jameson have brought the best of both worlds together for their latest limited-edition innovation, which sees its famous triple-distilled Irish whiskey rested in Fourpure’s Shapeshifter West Coast IPA seasoned barrels.
We were kindly gifted a bottle to sample and what we found was the whisky offered all the signature smooth flavours you expect with Jameson’s, however on the nose and palate you had this linger of tropical fruit and hops which you usually find from a craft beer.
First we tried the whiskey neat to get the full impact, however we found that by adding a few cubes of ice, it opened up the drink and allowed the beer flavours to really shine through and bring that fruity finish to the front of the palette.
Our friends at Jameson have recommended that the Jameson Caskmates Fourpure Edition can be enjoyed neat, with soda, in a Hoptail (yep that is a thing), or paired with your favourite IPA, but as long as you are in the company of friends.
Bottled at 40% ABV, Jameson Caskmates Fourpure Limited Edition is available at the RRP of £30 but you will need to be quick to avoid disappointment, as it is only available to buy on drinksupermarket.com, or at select bars across the UK.
