The House of Peroni is once again opening its doors with a celebration of Italian citrus in east London.
Returning to East London at the N&C showrooms, the House will bring to life the vivacity and zest for life that is undeniably Italian. The event will transport guests to the streets of Italy where they are given the chance to reimagine citrus and explore previously undiscovered flavour combinations.
Peroni is known for its delicate balance of bitterness and aromatic citrus notes that set this distinctly Italian beer apart and make citrus fruits the perfect accompaniment to its unmistakeable flavour.
This inspired master brewers to develop Peroni Ambra – a limited edition variant inspired by the aperitivo occasion which combines Peroni Nastro Azzurro with the sharpness of rare Italian Chinotto fruit.
Following its success, the brand will continue its journey into the world of citrus with the latest iteration of The House of Peroni Residency – ‘Infused with Italy’ – at its very heart.
Peroni are opening their doors to co-inside with London Cocktail week, to which they are the only beer partner, so will be serving a selection of Peroni-infused cocktails from an Italian-style street stall, designed as a teaser for the market setting of the main House – just minutes down the road.
Award-winning mixologist, Simone Caporale, will reprise his role as Master of Mixology but this time with a twist. He has taken a team of bartenders, paired with creative experts, on an inspiring trip to Northwest Italy where they were challenged to take Italian citrus fruits and translate them into bespoke Peroni-infused cocktails.
The line-up of guest bartenders includes leading mixologists from Swift, Chiltern Firehouse and The London EDITION, who will be coupled with the founder of florist Grace & Thorn, fragrance specialists from Earl of East London and illustrator, George Greaves.
These innovative partnerships are designed to push the boundaries of traditional mixology, fusing scent, sight and taste to create something truly unique for visitors.
Sounds great right? I know I’m excited to. Critically acclaimed chef, Francesco Mazzei will also return to host as Master of Taste, and, in honour of the citrus theme, will provide a ‘zesty’ take on Italian street food.
Self-styled as ‘mama’s cooking with chef’s hands’, the menu is concise yet diverse – working with locally available produce and featuring daily specials, from warming pasta dishes such as egg fettuccine with Grana Padano and lemon, and a rich duck ‘lasagnetta’ with fruit mustard, to aperitivo light bites including pumpkin and avocado citrus croquettes, and lemon and rosemary meatballs. This is joined by a gluten-free polenta with citrus and roasted peppers, along with an array of smaller bites.
Upon arrival, guests will be greeted into a lively Fruttivendolo (fruit market for those that can’t speak Italian) where they will discover an abundance of citrus fruits, leading them on to the first of several bars. Fragrances of Francesco Mazzei’s traditional Italian dishes will fill the air and his street food style menu will be available to purchase from the open kitchen. A gelato cart will entice visitors to enjoy a sweet treat with a creamy ricotta and lemon ice cream.
For those who choose to seek it, a concealed door will lead the way to a secret bar deep amongst the myriad of alleyways. Hosted by Simone Caporale, the intimate bar will entertain small groups of guests with a variety of Peroni Ambra Chinotto-based infusions.
Guests then move into ‘Bar Citrus’ where Peroni Nastro Azzurro flows and everyone is energised by the beat of Italo house music. The central bar space, influenced by Italian cafes, will invite guests to try a vibrant cocktail menu featuring the bartender and talent creations that were inspired by their trip to Italy. Their creations will include:
CHINOTTO MONTEMORO:
Inspired by the Chinotto groves of Liguria this cocktail features dark rum, Martini Rubino, Amaro and grapefruit and lemon juices. Topped with Peroni Ambra, the drink is completed with a Luxardo cherry and spoon of bitter Chinotto jam.

It wouldn’t be Italian if they didn’t feed you so to accompany the drinks, Italian delicacies will be available for purchase from the 4Cose Deli, with selected salumi and formaggio (cheese) on offer.
A bespoke programme of music will be specially provided by music partner, Early Sounds Recordings (Naples), with an eclectic mix of record selectors playing throughout the 10 day opening, with Italian guest DJs playing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.
