It seems to be birthday party season at the moment and this weekend is no exception with Number 90 Bar & Kitchen turning one year old and to celebrate they are going all out with the festivities
The bar and kitchen has seen over 300 events over the last year with performances from Chicago house maestro Derrick Carter and legendary Norman Jay MBE, as well as thousands of visitors enjoying the unique space showcasing some of the best home-grown musicians, artists and merchants.
Thursday night invites guests to an immersive spectacle featuring six artists working on six canvases, rotating every 20 minute creating what will be an amazing mixture of styles and work. There will also be live art from collective 616, alongside live music and house and funk DJ sets through to 11.30pm.
Highlights for Friday night will see local station Hoxton Radio broadcast live from the venue for a night of special guest interviews and live mixes, followed by dancing and delights from The Fabulous of Unicorns hot off their recent performance with award-winning Basement Jaxx. Taking to the decks later in the eve will be Big O, Mr Shiver, Saoirse and Jonny Rock.
The birthday party celebrations will come to a head on Saturday with a day-to-night festival encapsulating all that the multi-arts venue has to offer. Starting with activities from the Clothing Swap Company, stalls from Gypsy East Jewellery, This Must be For You project giving gifts for all,Glitter Camps and a live Birthday Cake performance, naturally! Expect plenty of party games and prizes with free popcorn and sweets across all three days. Number 90’s bar and kitchen will of course be serving up its signature cocktails and locally sourced food.
