Cut The Cap ventured east to check out the market and were pleasantly surprised with the offering. First off: there are more stalls than you can see in one trip – so be prepared to choose your battles. The sublimely-named Cheeky Italian, Mama’s Jerk, Rola Wala, SE Cakery, Smokestak,Yum Bun, The Beefsteaks, Mother Flipper, Bill or Beak, Hanoi Kitchen, Up In My Grill, Meringue Girls + many more are in attendance and ready for business. Food ranges from some of the best burgers Cut The Cap has tasted in London, right through to artisan desserts, and washed down with speciality cocktails (The Rum Bar in particular deserves a callout).

Diners and drinkers mosey between the old market stalls, and can take it easy up on the market’s rooftop. Arrive around 7 to grab a Sol and watch the sunset behind Lewisham.
