East London Liquor Company… your new favourite independent distillery

We’re not going to lie, we’re a but late to the party on this one BUT as the great East London Liquor Company founder Alex Wolpert said*,  its never too late to talk about Negroni!

Negroni, if we’re honest that classic gin cocktail that no one really likes to start with but then something strange happens, you have another, and another and before you know it bam, you’ve found your new go-to drink.
We’re full paid up members of the Negroni Fan Club so when we were invited to a Masterclass as part of the recent Negroni Week (those in the know now know why we’re late!) at East London Liquor Company we got rather excited.

*He might not have actually said that but we’re sure he believes it!

Those not familiar with the East London Liquor Company is a distillery producing and importing a range of quality handcrafted spirits including gin, vodka, rum and whisky.
They have bought spirits production back to London’s East End after more than a century, reinstating an industry back to its roots. Located in one of Bow’s most well known historical sites, the old glue factory in Bow Wharf.

So back to the gin and what got our tastebuds dancing was the prospect of trying their Premium Gin Batch 2 (47% ABV)… Why? A little of of prior research revealed that they use the very best botanicals, gentle aromas of coriander seeds, angelica root, thyme, winter savoury, fennel seeds, bay leaf and sage. And when that comes together you really do have something special.
We’ve never thought of gin to be one of those sipping drinks but Batch 2 is a strong contender to bust that believe.
