Don Julio 70 has the smooth and complex flavour of an aged tequila but is specially filtered to offer the crisp, citrusy taste expected in a Blanco. The finest blue agave plants are hand-selected to ensure quality standards that stem from the source. The agave is then distilled and aged for 18 months in reclaimed white oak barrels. Once the tequila has reached maturity, it is carefully filtered through a process that restores the citrus, fruity and raw agave notes that are most commonly apparent in Don Julio Blanco and balances these flavour profiles with the complexity and depth that exists in Don Julio Añejo. The result is a stunning tequila which marries together the best characteristics of both Don Julio Blanco and Don Julio Añejo. In creating this unique filtration process Enrique De Colsa’s goal was for Don Julio 70 to be crystal clear like Don Julio Blanco while maintaining the notes of vanilla, wild honey and sweet toasted oak, typical of an Añejo. It is a masterpiece of innovation.

So for Mexican Day of the Day here’s what we suggest as your perfect serve…
Don Julio 70 White Negroni
Ingredients:
30ml Don Julio 70 tequila
30ml Aecorn dry aperitif or Luxardo bitter bianco
20ml cocchi americano
10ml Dolin dry white
Method:
Add all ingredients into an ice filled stirring glass.
Stir for 20 seconds, strain and serve into a tumbler glass filled with cubed ice.
Garnish:
Pink grapefruit zest
Claro Mi Amor
Ingredients:
25ml Don Julio 70 tequila
White sugar cubes (with 3 drops of white chocolate bitters)
Dry champagne to top up
Method:
Build in a champagne flute in the order above
Garnish:
Discarded lemon zest
