The news from Cuba is coming in fast and it seems Cohiba broke the internet recently with the news of their 50th anniversary cigar and humidor.
The Cohiba 50 Aniversario marks the first time Habanos have released a 60 ring gauge cigar by 7 inches. What makes this cigar extra special is that it comes in a 50-count humidor, with only 50 available in the world. Each cigar band carries an individual serial number along with a band at the foot of the cigar with the original Cohiba logo.
The Humidors are manufactured by famous humidor manufacturer Elie Bleu and features 24 carat gold ligero tobacco leaves which have been set into the door panels of the cabinet. The first humidor was auctioned off at the Habanos festival and went for a staggering 320 euros. The other 49 will be auctioned off to Habanos distributors around the world.
I would love to end this article by saying ‘I’ll report back once I get to try this cigar” but I don’t think I will ever get my hands on one. However if you are one of the lucky people that managed to touch, smell, smoke one, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Here are some videos from people that were there and their report:
