To mark the second year of the prestigious collaboration between Chivas 18 by Pininfarina, Max Warner Global Brand Ambassador for Chivas Regal has fittingly crafted a series of cocktails, which not only combine influences from Chivas’ heartland, Scotland and the motherland of Pininfarina, Italy but also showcase how ice, the one ingredient universal to almost every cocktail, can be harnessed in an array of different ways….

We can’t pick a favourite which is probably testament to how good each of them are but do let us know which one hits the mark for you.

Velvet_Old_Fashioned_2_w4Velvet Old Fashioned

  • 50ml Chivas 18
  • 10ml PX Sherry
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Garnish orange zest
  • Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass, stir and pour over the Ice Drop.

 

Adding the PX sherry works to enhance the dried fruit and chocolate notes in the whisky… this truly is a fantastic drink!

  • 50ml Chivas 18
  • 5ml sugar 1:1
  • 3 dashes chocolate bitters
  • Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass, stir and pour over the Ice Drop.

 

In this mix the chocolate bitters work in harmony with the dark chocolate flavour components in the whisky.

  • 50ml Chivas 18
  • 20ml soda water
  • Garnish with a metal stirrer and a lemon twist
  • Pour whisky into glass, add Ice Drop and pour soda.

 

Key to this cocktail is the effervescence of the soda water which helps to release the complex, multilayered (85!) flavours of the whisky.

Place Ice Drop in rocks glass and gently pour whisky over the drop into the glass, cooling the liquid as it falls.
