Celebrate the Beauty of the Game: Eau de Lacoste L12.12

Yep like everyone else in the country we’re missing the Olympics too… a superb 2 weeks and love or hate it what a closing ceremony!
So we were quite glad when Lacoste gave us a little heads up that they were going to be doing a some celebrating themselves… and fittingly its a celebration of the beauty of the game.

Lacoste has launched a limited edition version of their white polo shirt inspired, best-selling male fragrance Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Blanc. This video is a little window on what they’re talking about…

The limited edition bottle draws on the legacy of the great sportsman and innovator, Rene Lacoste… the chic white outer carton (seen below) features 10 crocodile images – the brand’s iconic logo – but rather than the traditional green emblem the crocodiles are coloured to embody 10 nations from around the world.

But what does it actually smell like? And why the crocodile?

OK OK first things first the smell… this limited edition contains the same ‘juice’ as the original best-selling eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Blanc version. Its delivers a fresh, woody and herbal blend of grapefruit, rosemary, cardamom and cedar leaf creating a clean and aromatic first impression.

Now to tackle the crocodile! Believe it or not it wasn’t Rene’s love of wrestling with this great beast (he didn’t actually do that) that was the inspiration behind the logo but the fact that the company’s founder was so tenacious on the tennis court! His fans nicknamed “the Crocodile” and the two have been synonymous ever since.

In short we’re a big fan of this cologne as it can be warn both as a daily scent or on that special occasion. If you want more information about Lacoste or their products look no further than these links…
