In a few months time I will be packing up my South London roots and planting them in the East of London in a part called Stratford.
With great transport links, a new Westfield opening and a stones throw from the Olympic site, it’s sure to be an exciting adventure.
On Christmas day I was enjoying a Te Amo Number 4, while sipping an aged whisky with my cousin’s husband when he gave me an extra reason to be located around East London.
In Early 2011 the imminent arrival of Boisdale of Canary Wharf is coming.
I for one cannot wait to be smoking Cigars on their terrace while overlooking the mighty Canary Wharf, and with a massive Whisky Bar, a mini cab home will not break the bank…leaving more for whisky and Cigars.
Here’s the press release from their site and I look forward to reviewing Boisdale when it opens.
BCW, as we feel it may well become known, will house the greatest whisky bar on the planet as well as a wine and cigar shop and an amazing Cigar Terrace.
The restaurant on the 2nd floor will become the spiritual home to Boisdale jazz, blues and soul with the ability to seat up to 200 guests.
As you would expect there will be no departure from the traditional Boisdale look with deep reds and greens, rich mahogany panelling and a dash of Macdonald tartan, whilst the menu’s ingredients will be, predominantly sourced directly from Scotland – one of the world’s most magnificent larders with an unrivalled reputation for the finest beef, lamb, game and seafood.
Boisdale of Canary Wharf will undoubtedly become one of Europe’s greatest jazz venues. For those of you who are thinking that Canary Wharf is beyond the reach of the West End, remember that it is only 16 minutes from Green Park by London Underground!
