Blue Bloods and Partagas

This weekend was spent mainly watching Oscar nominated films, Sky Atlantic and enjoying a great cigar.

The cigar this weekend was a Partagas Serie D number 4. A big favourite of mine since I started smoking cigars and first cigars I ever tried.

The burn was consistent, the smoke was excellent and the flavour just got better & better.

I recommend this cigar. I place this as one of my favourites alongside a MonteCristo

After the smoke, we settled down to watch the first 3 episodes of New York Drama ‘Blue Bloods’.

The series revolves around a family of cops over 3 generations, with Tom Selleck playing the dad and commissioner of New York.

What I found was great about this series was that the actual crime that takes place in the episode is irrelevant compared to hoe it deals with moral dilemmas e.g. If you shoot a mugger, should you go to prison for possession of a firearm.

The show really creates a talking point, and in the show I look forward to the scenes when the family come together for Sunday dinner and discuss the case.

I recommend this show and I can see this going for a long time.

Also, Tom Selleck is known to be a big cigar smoker, appearing in Cigar Aficionado twice as well as being known to puff away on a cigar between takes.

According to an article in Cigar Aficionado, One of the best times to smoke a cigar is while he’s reading a script, says the former star of “Magnum, P.I.” And one of the best cigars he smokes is a Montecristo No. 2.

He even managed to get a box of cigars into the show.

Blue Bloods is available on Sky Atlantic, channel 108 in the UK. But in the US I think Season 1 has already finished (you lucky people)
