Thanksgiving Fixes… What to do, Where

It’s that time of year where we all wish we were American… no? Maybe not. BUT most of us probably wish we had Thanksgiving in the calendar each year. Friends, family and all that wonderful food and drink just begging to be devoured.
And although it might not be an official holiday in the UK there is no reason why you can’t indulge in the festivities. Thanksfully we’ve put together a round up of the places where you can partake… read, go, eat & drink.

Thanks Be Givin’ at Clutch

Bulleit has partnered with Clutch, the home of guilt-free fried food, to put on a ticket only feast this Thanksgiving. The festivities include a Bulleit cocktail menu featuring a delectable Brown butter Old Fashioned with Salt Caramel and a Kenturkey Highabll. Clutch style music which will last throughout the evening and the ultimate foodie feast will include:

  • Pear and Thyme Brined Turkey w/ Herb and Onion Stuffing
  • Butter Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Squash with Maple Drizzle Turkey Bacon
  • French Green Beans w/ Almond Breadcrumbs, Garlicky Roasted New Potatoes
  • Pumpkin Pie

Home Bar Thanksgiving HoeDown

The Home Bar Hoedown is back, with a special Thanksgiving Edition! A free evening filled with cowboy boots, country music, dancing and a seriously tasty cocktail list showcasing Bulleit Bourbon and Bulleit Rye. Cocktails will include a mysterious Smoked Maple Toronto Plane and the desirable Peaches and Cream. There’ll be dancing, turkey twizzlers, and as always, a singalong at the end of the night. Word on the street is stetsons, tassels and cowboy boots are all strongly encouraged!

THE HIGHBROW ONE: Balthazar, Covent Garden

Balthazar was born and raised in New York City and each November they celebrate their US heritage with a special set menu of all-American classics in the restaurant, and pumpkin and pecan nut pies available in the boulangerie. This year they’re taking things one step further, with a brand new American whiskey cocktail available at the bar and included in the set menu.

THE OTHER MUSIC ONE: The Blues Kitchen, Camden Town

This year’s Thanksgiving tasty menu at Deep South specialist The Blues Kitchen in Camden Town centres on a feast of buttermilk fried turkey, cornbread and twice-baked mac ’n’ cheese. And don’t forget some New Orleans gumbo to start and sweet pumpkin pie with toasted marshmallows to finish. AND, if you happen to be actually American, take your passport with you and you’ll get a free shot of Wild Turkey Bourbonon the house!
Book tickets (£29.95) and you’ll be treated to live blues from the house band until 1am. The Shoreditch and Brixton venues will also be celebrating.

THE BBQ ONE: Bodean’s, Soho

This is your smoky taste of America. With barbecue outposts across the city £28.95 per person you can be enjoying a Thanksgiving meal that includes a choice of clam chowder, Caesar salad and a quesadilla (with a chicken, pulled pork or veggie filling) to start, followed by traditional turkey, then pumpkin or key lime pie to finsh you off.
