Golden Barrel Rum Awards – Rumfest Update

Some late Rumfest news just in at CTC towers is that London’s Exclusive The May Fair Hotel is to play host to this year’s UK RumFest’s official after party and Golden Barrel Rum Awards.

We reported on The May Fair and their Cigar terrace when they first opened so excited to hear they are inviting rum lovers to celebrate, raising a toast to the world’s largest rum festival and the esteemed Golden Rum Barrel Awards.

Taking place tomorrow night from 8PM sharp it will feature a night of cocktails, canapés and the DJs playing setting the rhythm rounding off Saturday’s rum celebrations in true style.

In a twist from last year’s Golden Rum Barrel Awards, there will be no sit down meal this year, giving more of an official after party atmosphere.

The 2013 GOLDEN RUM BARREL awards will pay tribute to leading figures in the rum world with award categories that include:
Boutique Rum of the Year sponsored Imbibe Magazine

Rum Experience Hall of Fame Award

Rum Distillery of the Year

Master Blender of the Year sponsored by Green Engineering

Rum Blogger of the Year sponsored by Don Q Rum  (Cue us looking around!!! ehhh hmmm)

Best New Rum (UK)

RumRatings.com Award for Best Rum at the Show (as voted by the general public at www.rumratings.com)

What better way than to carry on the Rumfest festivities than party till the early hours with public rum lovers as well as people from the industry.

If you haven’t got your Rumfest ticket there is still time as the last remaining tickets for UK RumFest can be bought from the official website.

Havana Club and Don Q will be on hand serving up delicious cocktails (can it get any better?) helping to soak up the rum fueled day and music played out at the stunning five star May Fair Hotel, within the heart of London.

We will be on hand to celebrate the evening and will be tweeting the winners as they happen so if you can’t make it, then follow the day on our Twitter Feed @Cutthecap

And if you are going, we look forward to seeing you on the cigar terrace.

Tickets for the awards at priced at £35 if anyone is interested!
