The Wellesley Hotel opens its doors – Cigar Heaven

With the recent boom in cigar terraces around London, it’s now cool to be seen hanging out in one, and if you want to look cool the latest cigar terrace is guaranteed to make you look cooler than Fonzie in the North Pole.

Located in London’s Knightsbridge, The Wellesley Hotel is about to open its doors to the public just in time for Santa.

The new 36 room luxury townhouse hotel, found at 11 Knightsbridge is managed by Arab Investments’ City and Country Hotels and is being developed by Rhimesong at £36 million refurbishment costs. What does that get you I hear you ask? Well read on.

The hotel takes on both a contemporary and classic style with interiors created by award-winning design experts Fox Linton, combining the building’s 1920s art deco history and glamour with stylish contemporary touches. In addition to its 36 rooms, the hotel will incorporate a Cigar Lounge and Terrace, The Crystal Bar, The Oval Restaurant, and the Jazz Room.

Sold in yet? Well you are about to be…

The private heated cigar terrace will feature the UK’s largest bespoke humidor and the biggest collection of cigars sold on a stick-by-stick basis and as the perfect complement to this, The Crystal Bar will house a Whisky and Cognac wall. The bijou Oval restaurant will serve refined Italian cuisine with approximately 30 covers next to a dedicated Jazz Room which is to showcase both established and up-and-coming Jazz acts in an intimate atmosphere.

The Jazz Room at The Wellesley is a relief for local Knightsbridge residents who enjoyed the location’s musical legacy and have spoken out about their preference to have a glamorous Jazz hotspot and bar re-established.

The hotel bedrooms are to be situated over six floors, but if you want to experience luxury at its finest, then book one of the 6th floor Suites which contain 4 bedrooms, uninterrupted views over Hyde park, personal humidor, and boardroom – making it the largest capacity suite in London with all the technological advancements for discerning business travellers and high profile individuals who require several rooms.

Cut The Cap can’t wait to get down to the Cigar Terrace and will report back but judging by the images we have seen so far, we know we may have just found our new favourite place in London to relax.
