Stauning Whisky Arrives

Stauning Whisky, the premium whisky from Denmark’s West Coat which has made its UK debut in November.

Whether you’re looking for that perfect winter warming drink to enjoy by the fire, a last minute gift for Christmas for Whisky lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike, or simply a beautiful addition to your drinks trolley, you can’t go wrong with Stauning!

Stauning Whisky

Stauning Whisky was launched by a group of nine friends with a passion for whisky, with differing backgrounds who joined together to push the boundaries of whisky-making, to create whiskies reflective of their heritage with distinct Danish character. Blending a mix of old and new-world methods, Stauning whiskies are made from local grain, floor-malted in the house at the distillery on the Danish west coast.

You can enjoy neat over ice, or in one of their delicious cocktails, Stauning Rye Manhattan, for a Danish take on a classic cocktail, Stauning Peat Penicillin, for a fresh and zingy cocktail, and Stauning Kaos Horse’s Neck, a dynamic cocktail to suit all occasions!

Stauning Rye Manhattan

You know the great Manhattan Cocktail, but could a Scandinavian version be even better? Using Danish whisky it speaks to the Norse in us all.

Serves one

·       50 ml Stauning Rye
·       25 ml Sweet Vermouth
·       2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters

·       Add all ingredients to an ice filled mixing glass. Stir for 15-20 seconds before straining into a chilled Coupette. Add a maraschino cherry and serve.

Stauning Peat Penicillin

The Penicillin was developed in 2005 as a riff on the whiskey sour by bartender Sam Ross at Milk & Honey. The aromatic blend of feel-good ingredients made it an instant modern classic cocktail, try it with Stauning’s delicious single malt Peat whisky

·       60 ml Stauning Peat
·       25 ml fresh lemon juice
·       25 ml honey syrup
·       3 slices of fresh ginger

Stauning Kaos Horse’s Neck

Usually made with brandy, Stauning’s Horse’s Neck is made with sweet and smoky Stauning Kaos, served with angostura bitters and a long lemon twist (the horse’s neck!) providing a dynamic cocktail to suit all occasions.
