NEW BAR ALERT! Swift Shoreditch

You read right, the award-winning cocktail bar Swift is set to open new all-day venue in Shoreditch.

Open from 8am, the new Great Eastern Street bar will be opening its doors for the first time as lockdown eases – did someone say, Bloody Mary?!

In late July 2020, the Swift team will open a new all-day bar at 93 Great Eastern Street, Shoreditch.
Following over 100 days of closure for the hospitality industry, the new addition to the Swift family is open, whilst following social distancing guidelines.

Swift Shoreditch follows on from the roaring success of the team’s first venture, the multi-award-winning Swift in Soho (which reopened on Saturday, July 4th). Bringing an all-day offering for the first time, the new venue will be open from 8am on weekdays and 11am on weekends serving
artisanal coffee and brunch-style dishes in addition to Swift’s award-winning cocktails.

Co-owner Mia Johansson comments, “Around the world, our beloved hospitality industry has been deeply affected by the catastrophic impact of COVID-19. Whilst we’re all still in uncertain times and have a long road ahead of us on our way to recovery, we have faith in the British public’s love of coming together for great food and drink and are hopeful that London’s world-class cocktail scene will rebuild itself to come back stronger than ever. Sticking to our plan to open our second site is just the embodiment of our faith in this and we are so excited to start hosting guests again.”

Adopting a similar aesthetic to the ground floor of the original bar, Swift Shoreditch will capture the heart and soul of its sister site. Elegant and bright with art deco touches throughout, the bar’s counter will be lined with high chairs, with banquette style seating around the venue. Canopied French glass doors will be flanked by greenery, evoking a feeling of classic European elegance.

Swift Shoreditch will expand its food offering with all-day dining options such as; Wild Mushrooms, Parmesan and Egg Yolk on St John’s Sourdough, and Sauternes Soaked Peaches and Raspberries with Mascarpone on Waffles. There will also be Neal’s Yard Toasties and to-go breakfast items, alongside its artisanal coffee which can also be ordered to takeaway. Its aperitif-style cocktails will also be available into the evening including their renowned Spritz menu, Sgroppino and Irish Coffee.

The original Swift situated on Old Compton Street, Soho, was launched in November 2016 by husband and wife team Mia Johansson and Bobby Hiddleston in partnership with another husband and wife team, Roisin Stimpson and Edmund Weil, owners of Nightjar and Oriole. Inspired by European-style bars, where a quick drink signals the end of the day and the beginning of the night, Swift Soho consists of two stylish bars, set across two floors in the heart of Soho. The ground floor runs a slick service that reflects Swift’s name, focusing on aperitifs; whilst the Downstairs Bar is designed for lingering a little longer, with art-deco booths, table service, darker spirits and live piano.

A consistent award winner since its launch, as we’ve covered, Swift featured in World’s 50 Best Bar Awards 2018 and 2019 and has also recently won Bar Of The Year at the CLASS Bar Awards 2020, the leading awards for the UK bar industry and is nominated for International Bar of the Year at the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards 2020.

We’re very much looking forward to checking this new venue out when it opens it’s doors, ours it s a Sgroppino!
