The last of this years Limited Edition cigars (or Edición Limitada) has been released by Habanos S.A and we now have the Montecristo 520.
The Habanos Limited Editions are highly appreciated and awaited every year by enthusiasts worldwide.
They are characterized by vitolas sizes that do not appear in the usual range of the brand portfolio, and are distinguished by a careful selection of their leaves – wrapper, filler and binder- which have been aged for a period of at least 2 years.
The wrapper dressing these Habanos comes from the top leaves of the Tapado – shade grown, black Cuban tobacco plant, and is a relevant characteristic that identifies these special productions.
This wrapper is usually darker than the wrappers of regular range sizes of the brand.
The Ediciones Limitadas are made with the finest tobacco leaves coming from Vuelta Abajo* (D.O.P), Cuba, hence their premium price tag and frenzy of aficionados snapping them up.

The Montecristo 520 Edición Limitada 2012 is a unique cigar and has been created to commemorate the 520th Anniversary of the arrival of Cuban tobacco to Europe after Columbus first saw it in Cuba in his first trip in 1492. We’ve marked it in our Calender.
Montecristo 520, whose factory name is Maravillas No. 3 (55 ring gauge and 155 mm in length), is produced for the first time in Habanos for this Limited Edition. This size provides all the aroma and taste of a Montecristo´s classic blend, with its characteristic Medium to full Flavour.
They are produced in small quantities by expert Cuban cigar rollers so as to meet the expectations of Habanos enthusiasts around the world. (Naturally)
