London Cocktail Week 2014 is shaping up to be a very entertaining week, and we’ve just had news that Monkey Shoulder are swinging in with a pop up that is set to be bigger, with The Cowbell on Monkey’s Shoulder setting up shop.
The Cowbell is the winning team from Monkey Shoulder’s Ultimate Bartender Challenge, where over the past 6 months bartender teams from across the UK have been battling it out against each other to win the grand covetable prize of hosting their own bar during London Cocktail Week sponsored by Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt Whisky.

Their concept for the bar takes inspiration from the famous Saturday Night Live skit ‘More Cowbell’ featuring Christopher Walken and Will Ferrell. A sketch that is one of the best sketches of SNL history (and we love SNL).
The concept is about bringing a Glaswegian party vibe and sense of fun with cowbell karaoke, pallet tables, festoon lighting and each night a different DJ spinning the decks with their dance inducing tunes!
The Cowbell team will continue to pull out all the stops with fast paced service and a creative cocktail list that matches their tongue-in-cheek humour. A quick perusal of the drinks list will encourage you to pucker up for a Glasgow Kiss – this lip smackingly tasty drink comprises of honey water, lemon juice, egg white, Monkey Shoulder and bitters, which sounds amazing.
I’ve been told to look out for ‘Berlesconi’s Love Child’ (a cocktail, not a person) which contains:
25ml Monkey Shoulder
25ml Amaro
25ml Crème de Pèche
