Wurst Supremo Herman Ze German marches on… to Fitzrovia

Many Cut The Cap fans know the story… but its great to see how Florian and Azadeh have come since first moving to Brighton from the Black Forest in 2005. After realising the lack of their beloved bratwurst sausages in the UK they took it upon themselves to bring the wurst to the English masses. Free range and fresh from the Black Forest farm, the wurst are gluten, lactose-free and come in three varieties: Bratwurst, Chilli Beef and Brockwurst, and we’re sure they won’t mind us saying all grilled to perfection!

As the popularity grew, the sausage sensation was taken on a tour of some of the UK’s best music festivals, which in turn saw the debut of the first permanent Herman ze German outpost in London’s Villiers Street in 2010 and then a second shop on Old Compton Street in August 2013.

After a pretty much unstoppable six years the humble beginnings have led to the successful opening of two of the ze best German eateries in the whole of London and beyond, a comedy takeover starring funny-man Alan Carr and of course ze World Cup victory, Herman ze German is set to maintain its sausage supremacy with the opening of a THIRD London wurst parlour on October 2nd, at Fitzrovia’s Charlotte Street! All perfectly timed to coincide with the famed Oktoberfest celebrations.

With quality, authenticity and a sense of humour at the heart of everything it does, Herman ze German serves-up a traditional menu filled with the tastiest and healthiest gluten & lactose-free Bratwurst, Chilli Beef and Bockwurst with toppings of choice including sauerkraut and onions. The fresh and free range meat is sourced exclusively from a family butcher in the Black Forest, where both Florian and Azi have been visiting since they were children, plus delicious salad and air-fried chips with a mere 5% fat content will as always be freshly prepared and made on-site. The Schni-Po-Salad offers up a tasty addition of traditional Schnitzel-Pommes-Salad.

Rumour has it there will also be the launch of a Vegan Wurst that has been tried and tested to offer up an alternative to the traditional sausage. However, it is their Currywurst that is the real draw and earned them a reputation as the best to be tasted both inside and outside of Germany. Washed down a popular or rare German beer, available on tap or bottled, it fair to say Herman’s culinary experience is one not to be missed.

As Herman expands in size the guys have promised us the sense of adventure and pioneering spirit will continue to be the staple of Herman ze German’s offering across all three shops and the Fitzrovia store is a welcomed addition to the family as wurst fever takes hold on London!
