Gothenburg Presents… WAY OUT WEST festival!

Here at Cut The Cap we think we speak for the country when we say, we love of all things Scandinavian… yes yes IKEA, meatballs and Victoria Silvstedt make it a hard fact to deny but the main thing that cements this is the music – the list of artists is nothing short of prolific!

And it seems this love affair is set to continue with a night of music and entertainment from Sweden’s hipster city and music capital, Gothenburg. Partnering with the mighty international Way Out West festival, a showcase of Gothenburg’s finest cultural offerings will be presented at the infamous Electrowerkz on Tuesday April 30th. Combining a music offering that includes stunning sister duo Say Lou Lou, captivating singer and lyricist LUNE, BBC Radio 6Music’s Adam Dineen, Gothenburg Presents…Way Out West is the perfect way to get a taste of Gothenburg in London this summer. When Gothenburg comes to London for a one off night of music and entertainment you can expect an evening that will encapsulate the rich culture of the undisputed Scandinavian music capital. Artists performing at Gothenburg Presents…Way Out West include stunning duo SAY LOU LOU, currently making waves on the music scene thanks to their mesmerizing vocals on their impressive debut single ‘Maybe You’ and hotly anticipated new single ‘Julian’. These unique and ever-so stylish identical twins will perform their retro yet futuristic disco pop sounds, offering an opportunity to witness some explosive talent from Sweden’s incredible music scene.

Also confirmed and flying the flag for Way Out West in August is singer and lyricist Linnéa Martinsson, otherwise known as Lune, who recently signed to Sebastian Ingrosso of the Swedish House Mafia’s newly established alternative indie label, Music Box. Her powerful and haunting voice combined with an ever-evolving live performance is sure to set London and Gothenburg alight.

Throughout the evening, Way Out West DJs will playing tracks that combines Scandinavian classics with the most cutting edge new music and will be joined by BBC6 Music DJ Adam Dineen from the Jarvis Cocker’s Sunday Service and Cerys Matthews’shows. Dineen is set to deliver an electronic feast for the ears, a fitting tribute to his love affair with Scandinavia’s musical metropolis…
