Last week I was invited to a Morton’s private members club in the heart of Mayfair, London for a very special evening to launch Flor De Caña’s 30 year old Single Barrel rum called V Generaciones.
Alongside some of the biggest names in rum, we were treated to a welcome drink served by our good friend Mateo Ortiz (brand Ambassador) upon entry before mingling and enjoying some serious canapes.
Our other good friend John Toader (London Brand Ambassador) was on duty behind the bar serving up 3 bespoke cocktails across the evening which were created especially for the event.
The evenings reception was hosted by Raul Zeledon, the brand’s Global Ambassador, who welcomed guests and talk about the history of the rum, before unveiling the ultra exclusive V Generaciones,, a 30-year old single barrel rum, exclusively available in Harrods – with a limited run of only 400 bottles worldwide retailing at £1,500.
Containing liquid aged in a single premium bourbon barrel since 1988, the V Generaciones bottle includes the iconic signature of the five family generations behind Flor de Caña, a cap made from real volcanic rock, a certificate of authenticity with a unique bottle number and an authentic replica of the iconic 1902 volcano postal stamp of Nicaragua. The bottle is encased in an imposing black leather case with a fine metallic label, boasting an avant-garde style.
Raul Zeledon, Global Brand Ambassador at Flor de Caña, said: “V Generaciones is the embodiment of a 5-generation family story, a century-old commitment to the craftsmanship of the finest rum on the planet, perfected from generation to generation. I’m immensely proud to have unveiled this beautiful spirit in London and hope that everybody who is blessed enough to get their hands on a bottle cherishes it as much as we do here at Flor de Caña”.
We were lucky enough to enjoy a glass of the 30 Year Rum which was an incredible smooth, yet complex rum which embodies 30 years of history in each sip.
Here is a sizzle from the evening which features a cameo from yours truly:
If you are lucky enough to get your hands on a bottle, we would love to hear your thoughts, so drop us a line.
