Bruichladdich Launch Scottish Hideaway At Bird Of Smithfield

This winter the Birdcage at Bird of Smithfield are taking customers on an experience and giving them a taste of Islay with a Bruichladdich immersive Scottish hideaway. With Winter literally knocking on the door, what better time to explore the Scottish inspired snug in the warmth of one of London’s finest basement bars.

Partnering with the progressive Hebridean distiller, Bruichladdich® (brookh-lad-dee), the space has been transformed into a cosy winter lodge, offering the perfect escape from the cold for Londoners from until the end of January. Whether you are passing by or out for the evening pop in for some serious whisky pleasure.

Relax and enjoy a warming whisky cocktail or two against the backdrop of the beautiful Isle of Islay with a menu of Bruichladdich winter cocktails, including such delights as the Islay of Laddie cocktail with plum bitters and blackcurrant foam and The Stinging Scot with nettle reductions, vanilla bitters and kumquats.

Guests can also try out the tasting trio of Bruichladdich’s exceptional malts, discovering the three different peating levels of Classic Laddie, Port Charlotte and Octomore, for £15.

Passed down by generations, Classic Laddie – Bruichladdich’s signature malt is a reflection of Bruichladdich’s unique philosophies – the land, the people and the raw local material from which it is made. The heavily peated Port Charlotte, is a tribute to the men who once worked at the Lochindaal Distillery and the legacy they passed on. Octomore, the world’s most heavily peated single malt, is a dram that has taken the world by storm.

Bird of Smithfield is nestled in the historic Smithfield market district, this resplendent Georgian Townhouse boasts 2 bars, a stunning rooftop (perfect for summer cigars), a plush private room and an artfully decorated restaurant.
