When smoking a cigar, a great view can enhance the experience so much more.
Cigar bars are great, however I for one hate having to pay over the top for a cigar that you own at home, or you have to pay a clipping fee to smoke your own cigar! Its not being stingy, it’s just how I feel in today’s economic market.
With that in mind, I’ve set myself a goal to find some great hidden spots around the world where a cigar can be enjoyed, while savouring a nice view.
Las Vegas, Orlando, Miami, Newquay and North Cyprus are coming but let look at my home town London.
First up is a favourite of mine, I was recommended from a colleague called Icon Bar in London’s Leicester square.
Nestled away, within the Empire Casino, the bar is not immediately noticeable to the public, meaning even on a Friday after work, it’s never busy.
The bar boast comfortable seating with armchairs, couches, a TV showing the news or Sports giving off the feel like you’re in a private members club.
Giant double doors lead to a smoking terrace that overlooks London’s Leicester Square.
Here you can sit, enjoy a drink and smoke a cigar from your own collection. Although the bar doesn’t sell cigars, if you bring your own, you can enjoy to your hearts content.
The bar serves a selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks as well as a variety of cognacs and brandy’s. The prices are quite cheap too for a venue of this location.
I thoroughly recommend this venue, be it for a meeting, taking a date or just to sit on the terrace and puff away on a cigar.
Obviously the downside is that its weather permitting, there could be a private function and you don’t get to meet other cigar smokers, but I hope if enough of us start going, we can make it a cigar hangout!
