Rumfest 2012 is Coming

Just as we were starting to recover from the shenanigans of last year, we’ve just been informed that Rumfest is back again for the sixth successive year, and this time it’s even bigger.

In case you have been living on a deserted island (and if you have been, good on you) RumFest is the world’s largest festival dedicated to the celebration of rum and rum culture and boasts two days of pure entertainment, and rum sampling

Fact: the event is getting so big that this year the venue has moved from Olympia to London’s ExCeL Exhibition Centre, on Saturday 13thand Sunday 14th October 2012.

Get ready for some of the rarest and most delicious rums from across the globe, the ultimate Carnival atmosphere with live music and exotic rhythms, rum-infused delicacies alongside food from across the Carribbean in the Tropical Food Market (the rum cake is amazing but lethal), the opportunity to delve further into the fascinating history of rum, plus the chance to win a luxury Caribbean holiday for two.

What more can anyone ask for?

Visitors to the 2012 RumFest will be treated to not one, but two events in one, gaining entry to RumFest and the Tropical Food Market, plus the Boutique RumFest running alongside the two days will be open to members of the trade.

Tickets start from only £20 and are on sale now, along with full event information, from the RumFest website.

Last year we were lucky to sample some great rums including Ron Zacapa, Rhum St Barth, Havana Club, and Ron de Jeremy.

Rumfest is the brainchild of Ian Burrell who is the UK Rum Ambassador and probably has the best job in the world.

Cut The Cap will be heading there for fun, rum and to shake Ian’s hand for creating the biggest event in Cut The Cap’s calendar.

Then there is the Golden Rum Barrel Awards which is another celebration all together, but we’ll save that for another time
