For those of us based in the city of London, there is an abundance of fine restaurants and drinking establishments. However, there are so very few cigar-friendly spots in the East Central area that what Northbank Restaurant & Bar are offering us on Tuesday 25th June is quite the gem of a treat to close a month of the daily hustle and bustle of working in the city. Together with Hunters & Frankau, the UK’s sole distributor of the finest Cuban cigars and Joseph Perrier, one of the finer champagne houses in France, they bring us an event of fine champagne, bespoke hand-rolled cigars, and the finest canapés this side of The Channel.
To kick us off in the right direction, there will be champagne tasting presented by Joseph Perrier which includes the Cuvee Royale NV Brut, AND the Cuvee Royale 2002 Vintage. We don’t want to give too much away about the champagne’s tasting notes but be sure to check out more information at JosephPerrier.com.
And to accompany, the cigars supplied by Hunters & Frankau will be bespoke hand-rolled cigars, specially made for the evening. It’ll be quite interesting to see the blend used for this specific evening as always. We are lucky enough to have a cigar roller sent by Habanos a few times each year with a selection of choice leaves to roll us the very best cigars and it will be a pleasure to discover as always. We’re promised an elegant, light flavoured cigar matched specifically to the champagne.
And of course not forgetting the final piece of the puzzle, Northbank will be showcasing the West Country inspired canapé creations of head chef Jason Marchant.
So what does one do to attend?
Tickets are very reasonably priced at £30 including 2 glasses of champagne, a cigar, and canapés. Those not wishing to smoke, can also get a discounted ticket of £22 which includes the champagne and canapés only.
Northbank have also been kind enough to extend a dinner offer to guests attending the champagne and cigar tasting, with a two course meal and a glass of bubbly for only £22.50.
