Valentine’s Day Cocktails To Make At Home

Valentine’s Day is coming and as we all fight over the last bunch of roses in Tesco’s, why not try something different this year and make your valentine a delicious cocktail using your own hands.

Thanks to some of our friends, we’ve put together a cheat sheet of delicious cocktails you can make at home, and also show off your cocktail making skills in the process.

Here are 6 easy cocktails you can make in the comfort of your own home this Valentine’s Day.

The Edgerton Gin Cocktails.
For that special person who is a Gin fan why not create a Gin based cocktail. The kind folk at Edgerton have created 3 rose tinted cocktails guaranteed to get you in the good books this Valentine’s.

Pick up the ingredients and let your loved one decide between:

Ingredients: 120g golden caster sugar, 3 cloves, zest of 2 oranges, 1 cinnamon stick, pinch of black pepper, 500ml Edgerton Original Pink Gin.

Method: Add all of the ingredients, except for the gin, to a small pan. Gently bring the mixture to the boil then simmer over a low heat for 8-10 minutes, until it forms light syrup. Take off the heat and leave to cool.  our the cooled syrup and its infusions into a glass bottle and top up with the gin, shake well and store for at least 2 weeks to infuse.

Gin and Pomegranate

Ingredients: 250ml cup of fresh (pure) pomegranate juice, 250ml cup of fresh apple juice, 1 lime, 1tbpn of fresh rosemary for muddling, 100ml Edgerton Pink Gin, 4 sprigs of rosemary for serving.

Method: In a kitchen juicer, juice the pomegranates and apples. Add the squeezed lime. Set aside. In a cocktail shaker, toss a tablespoon of fresh rosemary, a splash of gin and about 2 tablespoons crushed ice. Muddle until well crushed. Add juices to an iced pitcher and stir well (or shake well in a large cocktail shaker with cubed ice.) Fill 4 rocks glasses with ice. Carefully bend the stems of the rosemary sprig and tuck them, arched, into the ice in the glass.

French 69
French 69 cocktail
Ingredients: 250ml Edgerton Pink Gin, 125ml cup Simple Syrup, 125ml cup fresh lemon juice, Champagne, lemon twist for garnish.
Method: Stir the gin, Simple Syrup and fresh lemon juice with ice in a medium pitcher. Strain into Champagne flutes or coupe glasses. Top with Chilled Champagne.

From Monday 13 February 2017 to Sunday 19 February 2017, Radio Rooftop bar will offer guests an exclusive Edgerton Pink Gin. The cocktail, Drink Pink, will be served with a complimentary miniature Edgerton Pink Gin, along with a recipe card allowing guests to create the cocktail at home.

Drink Pink is priced at £13 per cocktail. Radio Rooftop Bar also serves the Edgerton Original Pink Gin infused The Pink One cocktail.

Cointreau Cocktails
The chums at Cointreau have created a collection of vibrant yet easy to make cocktails you can make at home to show that special someone how amazing you are.

Introducing the twisted classic Cointreau Bramble, Luxe Margarita, Berry Belle Margarita as well as the refreshing Cointreau Fizz Wildberry.

All cocktails are easy to make and will leave your loved one wanting less of the Netflix, and more of the chill this Valentine’s Day.

Cointreau Fizz Wildberry

Ingredients:
50 ml Cointreau, 20 ml fresh lime, 20 ml cranberry juice, 50 ml sparkling water

Method: Fill a glass with ice, add Cointreau, the juice of half a lime, the cranberry juice and top off with sparkling water. Stir briefly. Garnish with a lime wedge and blueberries.

Cointreau Luxe Margarita

Ingredients:
25 ml Cointreau, 25 ml white Tequilla, 10 ml fresh lime juice, champagne float, 3 dashes of bitters

Method: Shake Cointreau, tequila, and lime with ice and strain into a chilled flute. Top with champagne and bitters. Garnish with a red rose petal.

Ingredients:
50 ml Cointreau, 20 ml fresh lemon juice, 10 ml Crème de Mure.

Method: Add the Cointreau and lemon juice to a mixing glass with ice. Float the Crème de Mure on top. Garnish with a lemon wheel and blackberries.

Cointreau Berry Belle MargaritaBerryBell_A5
Ingredients:
50 ml white Tequilla, 20 ml Cointreau, 2 slices of red bell pepper, 2 raspberries and 1 bar spoon of raspberry preserves.

Method: Muddle raspberries with bell peppers in a mixing glass. Add the remaining ingredients with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled cocktail glass

There you have it. There isn’t much more I can tell you except load up some Trey Songz on Spotfy & dim the lights (not too much that you fall asleep).
