It’s the James Bond Skyfall World Royal Premiere!

So today was the day… well it was if you’re reading this on Tuesday October 23rd 2012!  Yep, you guessed it was the James Bond world premiere! And what a day it turned out to be.

Walking the rather long and wide red carpet at London’s Royal Albert Hall were all the Skyfall stars, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe and of course Mr Bond himself, Daniel Craig – as well as a bunch of other A-listers (and the odd Z-listers) who simply wanted to watch what many are already calling the best Bond yet.

Mr Bond also had some other very note worthy guess in attendance too… Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall turned up to make this a royal world premiere! Hashtag awesome.

With a true James Bond vibe the evening kicked off  in style with a drumming marching band playing, whilst Daniel-Craig-mask-wearing fans whipped themselves into a frenzy behind the barrier.

The 23rd official Bond film, brings together Daniel Craig on his third outing on Her Majesty’s secret service with British director Sam Mendes (of American Beauty fame) making his franchise debut. And although it was Craig’s third outing as 007 the actor said the premiere of Skyfall at the Royal Albert Hall in London tonight, was the most impressive yet.

He said: “I’ve never been to a premiere like this, it’s incredible.” Craig, who took part in a Bond-themed segment in the Olympics opening ceremony featuring the Queen, added that he was “incredibly proud” to be playing Bond again.

Marking 50 years after the first Bond film Dr. No premiered on London in 1962, Skyfall pays homage to Bond’s gadgets, his taste in fast cars and beautiful women and introduces enough humour to lighten the tone.

According to the Guardian when ask about the pressure of marking the 50th anniversary of one of cinema’s most recognisable characters and valuable properties Craig said it was pushed to the background during filming. Instead, the movie tries to emulate the slick costume design and style of those 1960s Bond films, including bringing back the Aston Martin DB5.

Someone who was notably absent from tonight’s premiere was Adele, who recorded the official Skyfall theme tune (titled, funnily enough, ‘Skyfall’). Instead of glamming up, the singer choose to stay at home with her new-born son instead. A fair choice considering he’s only just arrived!

The film is released in the UK this Friday (October 26th) and on Nov. 4 in the United States.  Nice little fact to end on – the 22 Bond films have made around $5 billion at the box office – Oo eer missus!

Special thanks also goes to Nina Evans for supplying some of the pictures from tonights premiere – if you want to see more of her work both behind and in-front of the camera follower her on Twitter at @ninaevans7
